Thursday Favorites

These are things that have brightened my week.

R Carlos Nakai

I've been writing to his music all week. Lovin' it.

It's a Grind Winter Blend (sold year round!) coffee. A tantalizing blend of Hazelnuts and Irish Cream, laced with Vanilla and Cinnamon. Ooooh so yummy. You MUST try it if you have one close and are a coffee lover like I am. Coffee - the reason I get out of bed in the morning. I think my next giveaway will involve a pound of this stuff!

I add the first two, then I imagine that I am here:

This is where my book takes place. That's actually on one of the trails my MC has to travel on to retrieve an item. What a view! It's hard to not be happy when I get to spend my days mentally in a place that looks like that!

And when I venture out of my writing space, this is what I have to look forward to:
I love Lily's tongue. This was on a hike we did last week - Lily, The Hubster and I. I got lucky with this shot. I was snapping a ton and got home to find this gem!

Naps in a good patch of sunlight.

And old family photos (this one is for Abby, Melissa and Colene)

Hello 80s. I love how my dad went through the trouble of matching the head band and wrist bands to the shorts...but what happened with those socks, Daddy?!? Wowza!

My grandpa and I when I was little.

My grandpa and I when I was older.

Old pictures are so much fun! I've had a blast looking through some this past week. I'm slowly scanning them in for Facebook and for My Publisher books. I've had some laughs...and some tears. It's been good!

I hate to rub in the weather, but we've been holding steady at 72 degrees this week. Windows wide open, slight cross breeze - it's been heaven. Of course, I wouldn't complain if it was raining either. You know I love some cold, wet weather. I can be very productive!

What about you - what are some of your favorite things this week?

  1. I was just thinking yesterday how much I'd love to be one of my cats for the week and just bask in the sunlight and sleep wherever I want, eat whenever I want, and meow whenever I want. Gosh... they have such the life.

I am happy that I finished my manuscript this week. I'm happy that my husband is loving it so far (no matter how girly it may be), and I love that soon the editing will begin and I'll be sending it to the publisher!

Happy Thursday Chick! It's been awhile since I've visited! It feels awesome to be back to commenting!

  2. Favourite thing this week is a delicious dessert (chocolate fondant with white chocolate ice cream and maraschino cherries) I shared with my grandma at lunch yesterday. Heck yes.

  3. Bahahaha!!! That picture! Better than you described!! *snicker* Awesome! What a bunch of gems you have there! And I kind of really hate you for your 72 degrees. (we were a nice frosty...18 this morning.)

  5. What a beautiful setting! The west is so gorgeous. Is it in the west somewhere? Looks like it.

  6. I love the photos. I need to look through mine, so I could have a real authors photo instead of using my book cover.

  7. Jen - man, they have the life! I love how there is always a new favorite nap spot from week to week!

Sophia - That sounds so delicious. I think I gained five pounds just reading the description.

Alex - My dad never got the memo that they went out of style. I don't even know where he is able to buy them, but he does...Luckily, he doesn't wear shorts like that anymore. Or half shirts.

M Pax - It's a trail in Northeastern Oregon bordering on Idaho! In the Eagle Cap Wildnerness. SO beautiful up there.

Angelina - I like your book cover, though. It's hot! But it would be nice to have an author's photo as well.

  8. Colene - I'm hoping Mom doesn't decide to visit the blog or I'm totally busted. She's so angry that I put that picture anywhere but it's too great not to! It should be plastered everywhere! If I could, I would switch a few days out with you - give you our 70 degree weather today for your 18 degrees.

I love the old pix--hilarious hair! And look at you and g'paw! Good ones. Oh, and that flute music was very soothing. Reminded me of yoga class, which I miss~ :o) <3

  11. I love these old photos! And, uh, I kinda like your Dad's socks... they're retro and I'm pretty sure they're coming back in style soon. I"m sure of it.
