QueryTracker How I Love Thee

QueryTracker makes my heart sing. If you aren't on it, be sure to check it out. When you get closer to querying, I recommend joining. I paid the $25 membership fee and have not been disappointed.

For starters, I'm extremely anal and overly organized to a fault sometimes. QueryTracker is brilliant at helping me remain on top of everything. I can set my own list of agents for query, then I can keep track.

When you search agents, you can search for YOUR genre and then narrow it down further by agents who take email, snail mail or form. When you click on an agent name, you get to see WHO they represent! The agency site is listed - click to find the agent perfect for you at that agency and get their submission guidelines.

The comment section is great as well. We all know how supportive this community is. The comments are just more of that. Got a rejection, people are so nice - offering words of encouragement and commiserating with you. Got a request - people are right there celebrating with you.

You can participate in the forum, join groups, print reports, find out who reps who - the possibilities are endless. It's such a wonderful website. I love it. It's hard to stay away! It makes the whole query process simple, fun and ORGANIZED!

What about you - have you been to QueryTracker yet? Have you used it in your process?

P.S. - Elana Johnson's Possession came out today! On my way home, I'll be swinging by the bookstore for my copy! I can hardly wait to crack it open and read it.

  1. This is something I really need to check into. When I finally get one of the wip's finished, I'm gonna need this information. I've seen it mentioned on various blogs, but had no idea what it was. Thanks for the break-down. Sounds like we should all be members!

Hope you're doing well! I hope to be back to the bloggy world by next week :) Miss you all!

  2. Thanks for the tips! I had heard of querytracker but as I am not at that stage, I never bothered to check it out. Sounds like something I'll have to seriously look into when I get to that point.

  3. I've only queried publishers, so haven't used it.

  4. LOOOVE Query Tracker! And don't forget that the basic membership is FREE! It doesn't have the bells and whistles of the Premium Membership, but all the great database info is there.

AND there is publisher info on there too!

  6. I've used the non-membership part of it - but the member benefits sounds really enticing! Just one time $25 or every month? I'm pretty organized with my spreadsheets and stuff, but searching by genre and seeing the authors they rep would be really helpful.

  7. I love QueryTracker but have yet to pay the membership fee. $25 isn't that much so I think with the next book I send queries out for I'll for sure I'll be using it. I love how organized it makes you!

I hope your querying experience with agents is going just as well!

  8. I bumbled around on QueryTracker and sorta used it, but never joined. Then I never needed it, as I didn't even USE a query to get my agent. Go figure. But it's a great resource for writers. :)
