Wednesday Wishes

This is Wednesday leaning out of her cat tree. She may look like just your average gray tabby cat, but she has many skills. Most of these skills, she uses for The Good. Okay, 'most' might be a slight exaggeration. Wednesday is a good little kitty, though, at heart. She loves her family, loves her sisters, loves annoying those sisters and she also loves to grant wishes. Every Wednesday morning, I will rub the side of the cat house and summon our magic cat!

My Wednesday Wishes for the week:

1) A Walking Buddy - Okay, may not sound like much of a wish, but there it is anyway. I want someone to walk BRISKLY with for about an hour every day. I walked Lily for two hours yesterday...but it was a sloooooow, leisurely pace with lots of sniffing. I sit her at every corner (yes, I'm a drill sergent - sue me, I like my dog to be well behaved and focused on me). This slows our pace considerably. I miss the days of having a walking buddy - those fun hour long walks that went by so quickly and seemed like nothing because you were laughing and chatting it up.

2) Starbucks...Delivery - What a waste for just one coffee, right? So not environmentally friendly. There are just some mornings when I want a Skinny Vanilla Latte but don't want to get in my car. We have a drive-thru Starbucks about five minutes away so I can go in my pajamas! But the line? Longer than the roundtrip drive for the dang coffee. I don't think that I have EVER sat in that line less than twenty minutes. I know, right? Totally outrageous! How dare there be that many people as lazy as me in the morning?!?

3) Bottomless Toy Chest - I don't know if any of you check out my other blog for Paws and Learn (click here). I did a post on Monday about how much I spend on MY dog. It's staggering. Luckily, the hubster doesn't read that blog. Anyway, we budget $40 a month for toys. Not enough. I always go over. By quite a bit some months, depending on who Lily has had over. I left that last sentence as is because it made me chuckle - picturing Lily on the phone asking Bubba or Denver or Atlas or Chopper and Daisy over to play. She doesn't go through more than one or two with Denver. She goes through maybe four with Bubba. But Atlas? She's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier so you get these two together and it's like non-stop, no one is going to stop playing until they literally drop into a heap. Here's the aftermath of a playdate with Atlas (in the house and in the yard):

They will go through EVERY toy in her toy box (and even find a few hidden or scattered in the yard that we had forgotten about). So why let them do it? Because first they look like this:

And then, they look like this:

Totally worth it. But it would be even better if we had that Endless Toy Chest. No matter how many times they dipped into it, it would always stay full of all of their favorite toys!

After all, a tired dog is a good dog!

What about you - what are your wishes for Wednesday?

  1. Lily would love an endless toy chest (and your figures on that post are STAGGERING!) for sure. To be honest, I'D like an endless toy chest! How sweet would that be?!?!

My cat runs know. So we go between stops for sniffs and jogging (for me) but it's too cold out right now for either of us to enjoy ourselves...so I wish for spring/summer weather!

  2. Little Daphne does the same thing with her toys, and then there's fuzz and stuff all over the house. I'm definitely getting sick of the whole vacuuming thing... But she has a blast so who I am to deny her? :)

Look at those smiles. They look so happy!

  4. Awe, puppies! They're so cute! I love it when dogs look like they're smiling for the camera! My wish for this week is to have a GOOD week. No more bad things happening, I just want a good lead up to Spring Break.

And you never should have told me about the MAC Silver Ring eyeshadow. It's now sitting in my online shopping cart along with All That Glitters.

  5. Wow, what a mess! The dogs outdid the kids I'm sure.

  6. You totally need one of those bottomless toy chests at the rate Lily's going. My wish would be to finally finish crafting a query letter that doesn't suck--so I can finally send them out. :)

  7. I need a walking buddy too! Blows that you're so far away!! CUTE that a wish for Lily and her bud is in today! She would flip out if the toys never ended.

  8. I would like a Starbucks within walking distance. I'm tired of always having to drive there. I used to live in downtown Seattle and within a two-block radius, there were 7 different Starbucks! It spoils a person.

I could use a walking buddy, too. One of my cats like to walk on a leash but he is SO SLOW.
